Overview
PlateRank is designed as a local-first food ranking app. Your favourite foods, ratings, notes, photos, scores, and optional locations are stored on your device. PlateRank does not require an account and does not operate a backend service for version 1.
Information You Add
- Favourite foods: food names and emojis you choose or create.
- Ratings: entry titles, scores, dates, notes, and optional place names.
- Photos: photos you choose from your library or capture with the camera.
- Location: coordinates may be saved only when you choose to attach your current location to a rating.
Device Permissions
- Photos: used so you can choose food photos for ratings.
- Camera: used so you can take a new food photo inside the add-rating flow.
- Location: used only when you tap to include your current location with a rating.
Sharing
When you use PlateRank's share feature, the app creates a graphic of your selected ranking and opens Apple's system share sheet. You control where that image is sent. PlateRank does not receive a copy of the shared image.
Data Storage and Deletion
PlateRank stores app data locally using Apple's on-device storage APIs. Deleting a rating removes that rating from the app. Deleting a favourite food also deletes its associated ratings and locally stored food photos.
Third Parties
PlateRank does not sell personal information, does not include third-party advertising SDKs, and does not track you across apps or websites.
